NUEVO AMANECER CHURCH
Nuevo Amanecer Church has a beautiful story rooted in God’s mission to reach Hispanic communities in Kentucky.
In the early 1990s, leaders within the Baptist convention began ministering to Hispanic migrant workers. Out of that faithful outreach, Nuevo Amanecer was born. The ministry flourished thanks to the passion and dedication of leaders such as Rick Lucas, Chris White, Tommy Purvis, Jesús Pacheco, Agustín Reyes, Luis Salazar, Aquilena Rodríguez, and Brad White — who gave the ministry its name, Nuevo Amanecer. Under Pastor Jon Young’s leadership, the ministry was formally established as a church, and for nearly ten years, he helped shape its mission and community. We thank God for each of these leaders and their families, whose legacy continues to inspire us today.
In 2018, Nuevo Amanecer Church relaunched in the East End of Louisville under the leadership of Pastor Aníbal Figueroa as a multicultural and multilingual church. Our bilingual worship and prayer, along with English-preached sermons, are designed to connect with multicultural families and the next generation of bilingual Latin Americans.
We celebrate our past and look forward with faith and hope to what God will do next. Our mission remains clear: to Bridge the Gap between Christ and all people.
